This week our Kids On Farms program reached over 100 students in two different schools. On Wednesday we visited the first grade classes at Hotchkiss K8 seeding tomatoes. The kids will later transplant the starts at Thistle Whistle Farm on their field trip in late May.

Today we had the upper elementary at Thistle Whistle – quite busy with six different education stations!

In the afternoon I meet the second graders out at their very own garden site on campus. We amended the soil in two raised beds and seeded lettuce, radish, beets, dill, and spinach. We should have all the fixings for a great early season salad.

Roots are fun! Tasty, too!
